Rebecca Gutierrez Death & Obituary: The family of 16-year-old Rebecca Gutierrez, whose body was tragically found in the California Aqueduct in Hesperia after a week-long search, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover her funeral expenses. The young girl was confirmed dead on November 19, 2024, after the Sheriff’s Dive Team discovered her remains. According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, Rebecca’s death has been ruled as a suicide.
A Heartbreaking Loss for the Family
Patricia Cisneros, Rebecca’s aunt, initiated the GoFundMe campaign, reaching out to the community for support during this incredibly difficult time. In the campaign description, Patricia expressed the immense grief the family is experiencing after learning of Rebecca’s passing.
“In this time of need, I am reaching out to friends, family, and our community. After a week-long search for my niece, we received the confirmation that my sister lost her baby girl,” Patricia wrote. “Rebecca was only 16, and this world lost an amazing person. This has been a very difficult time for our family, and I am reaching out in hopes that you may be able to help ease this already horrible situation. Your contribution will go to helping my sister give Rebecca the proper funeral services she deserves and help us put her to rest.”
Community Support Requested
As the family processes their grief, Patricia has also encouraged others to share the campaign link to widen its outreach and gather additional support. While financial contributions are deeply appreciated, she also urged people to share the link if they are unable to contribute at this time.
“We appreciate all those that stood by us as we searched for her. We appreciate those of you that have checked in, sent flowers, and brought food to the family home,” she added. “Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated as we navigate through this tragic time.”
Rebecca’s Disappearance and Discovery
Rebecca was reported missing by her family on November 12, 2024. The last time she was seen was on the evening of November 11, and she had communicated with her family the following morning. The discovery of her body in the aqueduct brought the week-long search to a sorrowful end, with the family now focusing on honoring her memory and securing the necessary funeral arrangements.
The GoFundMe campaign is now open to the public, offering an opportunity for those who wish to support the family in this difficult moment.
